There’s never been a better time to choose the Mailbox, Birmingham’s premier lifestyle and shopping destination, following a year of continued footfall growth and a raft of new openings.

The Mailbox bucks retail trends with footfall growth and new openings

Footfall has continued to grow at the Mailbox, with a 10% increase across 2018.

This sustained growth comes on the back of 18 new retail and F&B openings over the last couple of years, including the launch of Home at the Mailbox – the region’s leading destination for contemporary furniture and interiors – and the arrival of a mix of high-quality, bricks-and-clicks independent retailers such as Burrows & Hare and English Brands. This summer Mailbox has welcomed Castle Fine Art’s new 6,000 sq ft flagship gallery, a 2,000 sq ft stunning Sofas & Stuff showroom, along with award-winning Pall Mall Barbers and luxury womenswear brand, James Lakeland.

Castle Fine Art expands at the Mailbox

Castle Fine Art has now opened into a 6,000 sq ft flagship showroom space at the Mailbox. Castle Fine Art’s new gallery benefits from a prominent location at the front of the Mailbox, and is almost four times the size of its previous space. It delivers an inspirational environment that aims to change the way that visitors enjoy original and limited edition fine art.

“The clear alignment between our brand and the Mailbox has been instrumental in positioning us in front of Birmingham’s art lovers, and thanks to the arrival of interiors heavyweights including Heal’s, and BoConcept, we now find ourselves in the hub of the leading destination for furniture and interiors in the Midlands, as well as sitting alongside leading fashion names. We’re incredibly excited to take up residence in our spectacular new flagship gallery at the Mailbox.”

— Ian Weatherby-Blythe, Managing Director of Washington Green Fine Art Group

More to come at the Mailbox

In 2018, the Mailbox welcomed new office occupier, WSP, one of the world’s leading engineering professional services consulting firms. The letting saw WSP occupy 47,000 sq ft of newly refurbished, Grade A office space for its new West Midlands’ regional headquarters.
